We are seeking a Legal Counsel - Middle East with experience in construction and engineering services matters to oversee AtkinsRéalis operations in the Middle East.

In this role, you will report to the Senior Director and Head of Litigation UK & E, MEA, and APAC and will be responsible for:

Main responsibilities:

  1. Ensure that material litigation and arbitration in the region have strategy roadmaps, are appropriately resourced internally (commercial and legal), have well-managed budgets and work plans to ensure greater likelihood of expected outcomes.
  2. Consult on, and provide proactive advice regarding complex litigation, arbitration, or regulatory matters in the Middle East, and provide mitigation strategies.
  3. Regular reporting and updating on the status of all matters in the region.
  4. Partner with and efficiently manage outside counsel and other legal service providers.
  5. Serve as a subject matter expert with respect to legal matters in the Middle East.

Candidate profile:

  1. Legal degree and member of a local bar association required; engineering or management degree or related educational credentials are an asset.
  2. Minimum of 4 years’ experience, whether in-house or in private practice, including experience with large complex construction projects.
  3. Strong work ethic, superior organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment under time constraints. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  4. Demonstrated commitment to diversity and equity in executing responsibilities.
  5. Proven success as a respected advisor within a results-driven organization.
  6. Ability to build trust with stakeholders and influence in a team setting.
