What you'll be doing:

The A/C Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing air conditioning systems in both residential and commercial environments. The role involves troubleshooting, routine servicing, and ensuring that all systems operate efficiently. The technician must adhere to safety protocols and industry standards, ensuring customer satisfaction through quality service.

Job Description:
  1. Installs, services, and repairs Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning systems including all control systems as detailed by the site management for the assigned property in a timely, quality, and efficient manner.
  2. Proactively execute PPMs assigned by respective Supervisor & ensure 100% completion each month. Ensure preventive maintenance tasks are performed properly as per the job plan, standard operating procedures, and any O&M manual recommendations.
  3. Execute Technical Rounds and report any technical issues, ensuring all scheduled & reactive works meet quality standards and SLA timeline targets.
  4. Carries out routine checks on the status of all HVAC equipment including checks on the BMS Controls through front end interface using an approved checklist. Maintain a log of periodic inspections for all utility/plant rooms, etc., along with details of issues identified and escalate to respective supervisor for corrective actions.
  5. Maintain appropriate service and repair records and costs incurred for future reference. Monitor and record values of HVAC systems to build a database for energy conservation purposes.
  6. Operate assets optimally to achieve maximum performance and minimum breakdown. Ensure all assets and systems operate as per design parameters and operational requirements. Adjust variables as needed to ensure correct operation within controlled parameters. Ensure the Air Conditioning system is ON at the right time.
  7. Perform regular cleaning of all HVAC equipment and upkeep of plant rooms, ensuring no safety or hygiene hazards exist at any time.
  8. Troubleshoot daily issues and resolve problems, networking within the team to ensure minimum downtime and seamless operations. Complete all facility service requests within established timelines and quality standards.
  9. Repair faulty Refrigeration and Air Conditioning equipment and plant. Renovate and replace equipment as instructed by site management, including upgrading HVAC systems and equipment as necessary.
  10. Master all aspects of the system and assets under responsibility. Have a thorough understanding of the entire system layout and details.
  11. Carry out PPM & Reactive Maintenance on Heat Exchangers, Chillers, etc., adhering to standards and best practices.
  12. Assist in verification of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning spares purchased/supplied.
  13. Proper upkeep of tools issued for duties, ensuring calibration requirements are met in liaison with Supervisor & Store.
  14. Demonstrate professional behavior, maintain good manners, grooming, clean uniform, and carry ID at all times when onsite.
  15. Adhere to QHSE requirements, use PPEs, and follow approved RAMS documents. Receive TBTs before major works and record attendance.
  16. Log daily attendance accurately and report any unauthorized absence immediately.
  17. Support the supervisor in preparing facility-wise critical spare parts list and maintaining minimum stock levels based on consumption, criticality, and lead time.
  18. Support air quality inspections and monitoring.
  19. Guide Assistant Technicians and ensure proper procedures are followed.
  20. Report all energy consumption to the supervisor.
  21. Escalate site operation status to the Site Supervisor appropriately.
  22. Ensure full compliance with the company's QHSE policies, objectives, and targets.
  23. Immediately report hazards, observations, or incidents to the line manager.
Functional/Technical Competencies:
  • Ability to read technical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Perform general HVAC maintenance.
  • Inspect Chillers, ETS, Heat Exchangers, CHW Pumps, etc., and other HVAC components.
  • Troubleshoot HVAC issues using appropriate testing devices.
  • Repair and replace equipment, piping, or parts.
  • Good knowledge of local authority codes, ASHRAE guidelines, and building regulations.
  • Proficient with various HVAC testing devices and tools.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to read schematics and work plans, PPM instructions, and checklists.
  • Availability to work after hours, on weekends, and public holidays with short notice.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
Certifications:
  • Certification in HVAC or related technical field.
