Job Description
Job Purpose:
Responsible for working individually or as part of a team to safely undertake all manual and technical ground handling activities. This includes providing driving and operating diverse technical equipment for which the employee is qualified and licensed. The role involves providing ground services to all company and visiting business jet flights as per the requests received from the appropriate allocator, team leader, or supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure thorough inspection of all Ground Service equipment regarding serviceability, cleanliness, and safety; report concerns to the supervisor.
- Adhere to all safety standards during operations and tasks.
- Perform multitasking activities such as positioning chocks, cones, marshalling, handling deadload aircraft, washing aircraft, monitoring refueling, and operating all qualified and licensed equipment.
- Ensure GS equipment is serviceable prior to positioning it onto the aircraft.
- Arrange required equipment at staging areas before aircraft arrival/departure.
- Provide and operate GPU, ASU, ACU for aircraft ground operations as requested.
- Provide and operate water and toilet servicing per SOP and customer instructions.
- Provide access steps for aircraft entry.
- Operate aircraft cargo hold doors and handle cargo loading/unloading.
- Perform flight deck ground communication via headset as per SOP.
- Assist with pushback, towing, wing tip walking, and signaling as needed.
- Communicate with supervisor regarding equipment utilization times for accurate invoicing.
- Position multipurpose high lift for aircraft cabin configuration changes.
- Provide vertical fin access for flag installation or maintenance requiring high access.
- Transport aircraft seats from storage to aircraft.
- Transport aircraft wheels as needed.
- Replace nitrogen and oxygen bottles from carts by sending bottle replacements.
- Install aircraft jet engine covers before washing.
- Provide access door opening/closing for stakeholders requiring aircraft access.
- Schedule and perform aircraft movements during prolonged stays to ensure wheel durability and safety.
- Perform cleaning of cockpit windshields and passenger windows.
- Ensure proper handover/takeover of equipment and aircraft during shift changes.
- Coordinate with FBO and other support services for additional ground support requirements.
- Position aircraft wheel chocks and safety cones; connect ground support equipment.
- Perform all aircraft services as per SOP, adhering to safety regulations.
- Conduct daily safety checks on all ground support equipment, including prior to aircraft positioning.
- Operate emergency evacuation systems and remove equipment in case of malfunctions.
- Perform FOD checks daily and before aircraft arrival/departure; report findings immediately.
- Handle and dispose of aircraft waste fluids such as fuel oils and hydraulic fluids.
- Inspect safety equipment like fire extinguishers for expiry dates.
- Ensure aircraft safety during parking in bad weather, including proper chocking during sandstorms.
- Inspect and verify calibration dates of all ground equipment.
- Report dangerous goods immediately to the supervisor.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements as per company standards.
Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Ground Services Equipment Operator in an airport environment, including ramp/apron driving.
- Completion of Grade 10 with courses in Mathematics or General Sciences; preferably a High School Certificate or Diploma in Aviation or Business Administration.
- Valid UAE driving license is required.
- Possession of an airport driving permit/license from a recognized airport is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of different aircraft types.
