Job Description:
A Quantity Surveyor (QS) is responsible for managing the financial aspects of landscape construction and maintenance projects. QSs play a key role in ensuring projects are completed within budget and on time. The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing inquiries, preparing estimates, drafting proposals & contracts, and ensuring smooth coordination between clients and operations teams. This role requires precision, adherence to procedures, and effective communication to deliver accurate and competitive estimations while supporting the company’s business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment required for Landscape Maintenance and Construction projects. Submit proposals and tenders to customers and follow-up.
- Budgeting: Develop and manage Project/AMC budgets, tracking costs throughout the Project/AMC lifecycle.
- Contract Administration: Prepare and review contracts and their renewals with customers, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Procurement: Assist in the procurement of materials and services, ensuring competitive pricing and timely delivery.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential cost risks associated with projects.
- Valuation: Conduct periodic valuations of work completed to facilitate progress payments from customers and to contractors.
- Claims Management: Assist in the preparation and negotiation of claims related to variations in work or unforeseen circumstances.
- Project Planning: Contribute to project planning and scheduling, ensuring that cost considerations are integrated into the overall plan.
- Reporting: Generate and maintain Monthly Dashboard Reports, SIM Reports, Proposal Follow-Up Reports, Monthly AMC Value Reports for invoicing, VO/Project Status Reports, SMD MOM (Minutes of Meeting).
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., RICS, CIOB) is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, BIM software, estimating software).
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of construction and maintenance contracts and legal frameworks.
