Job Description

The Educational Instructor will conduct informative and fact-based animal presentations in the park and outreach programs, promoting products and activities to guests. The role requires extensive knowledge of theme park information and products, delivered in an engaging manner. The instructor must develop a thorough understanding of the UAE school curriculum to conduct curriculum-based programs.

This position involves standing for prolonged periods, lifting up to 15 kg, and working various shifts, including opening, mid, closing, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Job Scope

• Coordinate curriculum development, training, science writing, video production, or graphic design.
• Create new educational content, such as interactive experiences on invertebrates and ocean literacy.
• Engage and motivate guests and students.
• Conduct educational programs for events and daily operations.
• Lead outreach programs and represent the department at events.
• Conduct tours of the facility, including VIP and program evaluations.
• Prepare and maintain educational materials.
• Collaborate with the Education Support Manager to deliver relevant zoological programs.
• Operate independently, providing excellent guest service and innovative experiences.
• Interact proactively with guests to share animal and facility information.
• Monitor guest and animal safety in coordination with the zoological team.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
• Stay informed about facility updates and promotions.
• Respond effectively to guest queries and complaints under leadership guidance.
• Guide Education Specialists & Assistants.
• Complete training and maintain professional development.
• Follow safety policies, including PPE, and foster a safety culture.
• Assist with training new colleagues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in animal sciences, education, natural sciences, or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of experience as an instructor or similar role.
• Excellent customer/guest interaction skills, including problem resolution.
• Knowledge of educational principles and instructional design.
• Strong verbal communication skills and passion for the environment.
• Ability to act effectively in unstructured situations.
• Public speaking skills, capable of addressing large crowds.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
