Senior Manager - Accounting and Financial Reporting

Reports to: CFO

Job Purpose:

The Senior Manager – Accounting and Financial Reporting is responsible for ensuring that the financial results of Bateel Holdings and its subsidiaries are accurately presented to Bateel Management. This position works closely with and ensures seamless integration with Accounting policy, Accounting operations, Financial reporting, analysis and in addition, works closely with the Country Finance Managers and Business Heads to effectively communicate results. This role will have a Corporate Accounting Officer as one direct report and, Business Financial Analyst and FPA Manager as dotted line reports.

Key Accountabilities:

• Review of monthly, quarterly, yearly financials of all group entities, financial consolidation and submission to the management.
• Works closely with the Corporate Finance team and Regional Accounting team in the monthly financial close and consolidation activities to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the financial accounting close processes, including quality control, reliability, and risk mitigation.
• Preparation and review of consolidated and legal entity financial reporting to ensure that financial accounting and related reports are properly prepared, reviewed and explained in a timely manner.
• Lead company’s annual budgetary preparation and consolidation along with FPA Manager, division heads and country finance managers.
• Coordinate, prepare and provide budget variance analysis to the business heads.
• Knowledge of IFRS and latest accounting standards and reporting requirements to ensure proper application within the company's financial reporting processes.
• Assist in the review of accounting concepts, accounting issues, and management and tracking of GL mapping requirements for management reporting and IFRS reporting.
• Solid understanding of ERP , MIS & BI systems including working closely with the IT (report development team) to develop, implement and/or maintain accounting and reporting systems including understanding the transactional flow through various systems to ensure accurate financial reporting results.
• Work closely with all teams to improve accounting processes in support of current and new business activities including recommending changes to policies, procedures, and work flow processes that will improve upon the effectiveness and efficiency of the accounting teams, the accounting organization and the business as a whole.
• Develop and perform internal controls throughout area of responsibility including the management and coordination of assigned internal controls.
• Communicate regularly with Policy, the Accounting operations teams, the financial reporting teams, and the Business teams, to identify areas for operational and reporting improvement, including communicating and sharing knowledge about accounting and reporting requirements and upcoming changes.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors, handle audit and attend audit queries representing corporate finance.
• Review the work of other team members, providing constructive feedback, guidance and coaching to other team members while maintaining positive relationships.
• Participate in developing the management and leadership capabilities of subordinates and peers.
• Ensure the accuracy in the computation and time filing of tax returns like VAT, CIT, Excise tax, ESR , Annual submission of audited annual accounts with regulatory authorities of all Bateel group entities.

Experience requirement:

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in which 5 years of experience should be in Audit and Assurance of any Big 4 or top auditing companies
• Proficiency in both verbal and written English Language

Qualification and Licenses requirement:

• CA/CPA or equivalent qualification from top accounting Boards
• Master’s degree in accounting
• UAE Driving License (Car)
