Information Security Engineer

Location: Abu Dhabi

Position Type: Contractual

Total Experience: 1-3 years

Job Responsibilities

This role involves assisting the InfoSec Lead in managing incident response activities, coordinating with our Managed Detection and Response (MDR) provider, and maintaining various security tools and processes.

Organizational Relationships

  • Reporting Relationships: InfoSec Engineer reports to InfoSec Lead
  • Direct Reports: 1
  • Internal Communication: Service Desk, NOC / Infrastructure / Infosec Team
  • External Communication: Technology vendors (TIER III support)
Key Accountabilities
  • Incident Response Support: Assist in detection, analysis, and response to security incidents, coordinating with MDR provider and internal stakeholders.
  • Security Monitoring: Monitor security alerts and logs from SIEM, EDR, and other tools to identify threats.
  • Vulnerability Management: Support vulnerability assessments and track remediation efforts with IT teams.
  • Security Tool Maintenance: Help maintain and configure security tools such as EDR, SIEM, and NAC systems.
  • Documentation: Keep security process documentation, incident reports, and system configurations up to date.
Minimum Qualifications & Preferred Qualifications
  • 1–3 years in an information security or related IT role
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or related field
  • Certifications: CompTIA Security+, CEH, or equivalent (preferred)
  • Knowledge of security tools (SIEM, EDR, NAC), network protocols, and basic scripting
  • Understanding of cloud and on-prem infrastructure security
  • Familiarity with ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and security audits
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
