Job description

Job Title: Income Auditor

Location: Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai

Department: Accounting

Job Summary: The Income Auditor is responsible for verifying that all daily revenues from rooms, food & beverage, and other sources are accurately recorded in the General Ledger. Ensuring compliance with operational procedures and maintaining subsidiary records for audit and tax purposes are also key responsibilities. The Income Auditor reports directly to the Chief Accountant.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee daily income accounting, ensure accurate revenue posting, and prepare Daily Revenue Reports and month-end reconciliations.
  2. Ensure all rebates, discounts, voids, paid-outs, and complimentary items are properly authorized and documented, complying with hotel policies.
  3. Monitor and review revenue reports, night audits, banquet events, and discrepancies; validate approvals and investigate inconsistencies.
  4. Reconcile credit card transactions, handle disputes and chargebacks, and assist with cash counts and cashier reports.
  5. Reconcile guest ledger, TA commissions, and general ledger balances, providing explanations for variances.
  6. Assist management with various tasks, maintain organized work practices, and be flexible with scheduling.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management, Accounting, or related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience as an Income Auditor in a hotel, preferably with pre-opening experience.
  • Proficiency in PMS, POS, and accounting systems such as Springer Miller, InfoGenesis, and SUN system.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, auditing, financial reporting, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Leadership ability in a pre-opening environment, including team training and supervision, with excellent planning and deadline management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail in financial analysis and reporting.
