Job Purpose:
Responsible for managing mid and large-sized key projects (strategic and operational) to achieve RAKEZ and Ras Al Khaimah-wide objectives. This is both an internal and client-facing role often interacting with C-Suites.
Core Responsibilities:
- Assist with, and oversee the implementation of, the RAKEZ corporate strategy and key strategic projects, in line with overall Ras Al Khaimah and UAE strategy.
- Oversee the delivery of key projects and ensure delivery is within scope, timelines, and budget.
- Implement a mechanism to monitor key projects in the organization.
- Assist in prioritizing projects based on timeline, cost-benefit considerations, and capacity to achieve results within timeframes established.
- Monitor and ensure projects and initiatives are in compliance with relevant policies and standards.
- Monitor short-term and long-term plans; ensuring they are written, communicated, reviewed, and evaluated on a routine basis.
- Coordinate and conduct post-implementation reviews of projects to determine their effectiveness.
- Effectively communicate and engage with functional project teams and all relevant stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure effective and efficient delivery of all planned key projects.
- Manage all contracts and other project related commitments efficiently.
- Develop strong vendor relationships to ensure high quality of deliverables.
- Work with teams across RAKEZ (eg finance, IT, HR, Sales, Strategy, Marketing, etc), RAK Govt Partners (eg Marjan, RAK Ports, Al Hamra and RAK Properties) and Potential Investors
- Assist in managing the process of periodic management reporting on project status (i.e. schedule, costs, activities, opportunities and risks) to ensure visibility of project status to wider organization.
- Assist in managing status updates for key projects, ensuring full visibility on progress by Executive Management.
- Work with Enterprise Risk Management to assist with Risk Assessment analysis for key projects to ensure any risks and issues are resolved promptly and effectively.
Qualifications, Experience, & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in project management/business administration or an equivalent degree.
- Project Management Qualifications and Accreditations (PMP, PRINCE 2).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in previous roles in strategy, project management, and execution.
- Experience working with clients in an external facing role – sales, business development or consultancy
- Excellent program management and project management skills.
- Fluent in English (bilingual with Arabic is preferred).
- Excellent English writing skills and good at presenting ideas
- Good IT skills – Microsoft Packages such as PowerPoint
- Detail-oriented, efficient, organized and adaptable
- Responds well in fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Able to prioritize, work alone or as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills with strong collaborative approach.
- Strong leadership, negotiation and conflict management skills.
