Scope of Work:
Assists in managing the Training function of the hotel by developing the annual training plan aligned to the hotel’s business objectives. The position also plays a leading role in promoting the desired work culture around the Danat Hotels & Resorts values of: respect, integrity, craftsmanship and pride in one’s work.
Job Responsibilities:1.Ensures full implementation and adherence to the DH&R Talent Development Operations Standards Manual as well as all additional Corporate add-on Policies and Procedures.
2.Conducting a TNA and in conjunction with the Director of Human Resources develops the hotel’s annual training plan. Aligning the plan to support business objectives both short, medium and long term.
3.Monitors the annual training plan on a quarterly basis to ensure programme and evaluates that learning objectives have been met and acquired skills and knowledge are being transferred back in the work place.
4.Responsible for all aspects of the colleague training and development life cycle: orientation, regulatory certifications, career progression, performance management. Adhering to all required UAE laws as well as following international best practice.
5.Develop and maintain effective employee relations through: advocating consistent and fair recognition; consistent and fair management; ensuring regular and timely feedback on performance; encouraging multi directional communication; ensuring colleagues are actively encouraged and supported to develop their knowledge, skills and competencies etc.
6.To assist the Human Resources Department with the Employee Metrix on-line employee satisfaction survey ensuring the survey is administered according to Danat Hotels & Resorts Corporate policies and procedures. Assists Departments to ensure their post survey departmental action plans are formulated within pre-set deadlines to enhance and or improve upon highlighted issues.
7.Monitors the Customer Metrix reports and guest satisfaction ratings. Discusses the same with Department Heads to address any performance issues within the Department that are impacting upon guest service.
8.Collaborates with the Management Team to monitor colleague performance to ensure all persons are working to a standard that contributes to the achievement of the hotel’s business objectives.
9.Ensures that all training systems are fully implemented within all departments and regularly reviews the same, revising and updating as required: new employee training plans; cross training; buddy system; new employee monthly checklist; on-job training etc.
10.Ensures that all mandatory corporate training programmes are implemented according to the required standards.
11.Proactively champions the use of the Danat Hotels & Resorts on-line Employee Performance Management (EPM) system. Ensuring that Managers keep up to date performance journals of all team members.
12.Ensures that individual development plans as a result of performance appraisals are followed up on a quarterly basis and colleagues are actively encouraged in their continual professional development.
13.In conjunction with the Human Resources Department assists in the creation of a Succession Planning system for all grades to ensure consistency in service and to promote career development within the hotel/group.
14.Ensures that all Training related documentation is kept up to date; filed accordingly to the DH&R Talent Development Operations Manual and best practice data protection laws.
15.Compiles monthly training reports, news letter & training calendars as per DH&R and hotel requirements.
16.Assist HR in organizing talent activities, team outings, management outings, monthly colleague gatherings, parties and any other special events.
17.Actively participating in all activities put forward towards upgrading of colleagues’ benefits.
18.Keeps self up to date with all new training related systems and strategies and product in the market.
19.Conducts performance evaluations as required regarding colleague probation periods, annual performance reviews, promotion or transfer consideration and salary reviews.
20.Regularly reviews all external training vendors to ensure they provide the most cost effective solutions to training needs.
21.Reviews all requests from Departments for external trainings to ensure requests are relevant to training needs and in line with budget.
22.Attends Management meetings and daily briefings as required.
23.Ensure effective two way communication within own department by regular departmental communication meetings and daily briefings.
24.Ensures that the appropriate standards of conduct, dress, hygiene, uniform and appearance are maintained for all colleagues within the hotel and own department.
25.Strictly adheres to the Hotel’s Policy on Confidentiality and Ethics.
26.To ensure self and all hotel colleagues actively participate in all EHSMS and FSMS requirements.
27.To carry out any additional tasks and projects as requested by the Director of Human Resources or delegate.
Job Specification:
- Strong understanding of Adult Learning Theories.
- Good Knowledge of Programme and Systems Design & Implementation.
- Able to design and produce relevant training materials including e-learning courses.
- Proven experience in Learning & Development, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Bachelors Degree/Diploma in Human Resources, Education or related fields/Industry Based Certifications.
- CIPD Certificate in Training Practice.
- Minimum of 2-Years Experience in a Similar Capacity Within 5 Star Hotels.
- Candidate must be locally available in UAE.
