Required for a Leading Facility Management Company in UAE


Position - Pump Technician


Job Summary:


The Pump Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of a variety of pump systems used in facility operations, such as water supply pumps, sewage pumps, HVAC circulation pumps, and firefighting pumps. The technician ensures that all pump equipment operates reliably, efficiently, and in compliance with safety and operational standards.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Inspect, maintain, and repair different types of pumps, including centrifugal, submersible, booster, dosing, and vertical turbine pumps.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance to avoid pump failures and prolong equipment life.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults in pumping systems.
  • Dismantle, clean, lubricate, and reassemble pumps and motor units.
  • Align pump and motor assemblies and ensure proper coupling.
  • Replace seals, bearings, gaskets, and other worn or damaged components.
  • Record maintenance tasks and report equipment performance using checklists or CMMS.
  • Monitor pump system pressure, flow rates, and power consumption.
  • Ensure adherence to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
  • Support installation and commissioning of new pumping systems or equipment upgrades.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and request replacements as needed.
  • Comply with all safety regulations and environmental requirements during maintenance work.

Qualifications:

  • ITI or Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 35 years of relevant experience in pump maintenance, preferably within a facility management setting.
  • Strong knowledge of pump types, mechanical systems, and alignment procedures.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and operation manuals.
  • Familiarity with basic electrical and control systems associated with pumps.
  • Good understanding of safety and environmental regulations related to water and wastewater handling.
  • Physically fit and able to work in confined or elevated spaces.

Working Conditions:

  • May involve working in noisy, wet, or confined environments.
  • Shift work or emergency response duties may be required.
  • Must follow strict safety procedures, especially when working near pressurized systems or hazardous fluids.
