Product Owner - Cybersecurity - Contract

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Cybersecurity Product Owner to lead the development and lifecycle management of cybersecurity products and solutions. The ideal candidate will possess deep product ownership experience with a strong understanding of cybersecurity domains and stakeholder engagement. This role will act as a key bridge between cybersecurity, business stakeholders, and technical teams to deliver robust and secure digital products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • End-to-End Product Lifecycle Management
  • Define product vision, roadmap, and backlog for cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Lead the development, launch, and continuous improvement of cybersecurity products.
  • Drive Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including security operations, IT, risk, compliance, and business units.
  • Translate business requirements into technical features aligned with security objectives.
  • Present product updates, metrics, and risks to senior leadership and steering committees.
  • Cybersecurity Domain Expertise
  • Understand and incorporate cybersecurity frameworks, threats, trends, and compliance requirements into product strategy.
  • Work closely with cybersecurity engineers and architects to ensure alignment with security best practices.
  • Prioritization & Decision Making
  • Own and groom the product backlog, ensuring clarity and prioritization of features, bugs, and improvements.
  • Balance competing priorities while ensuring product goals and business value are achieved.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in product management or ownership, ideally in a cybersecurity, IT security, or digital risk context.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, technologies (SIEM, IAM, EDR, etc.), and regulatory requirements (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, etc.).
  • Proven experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and product lifecycle management.
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience using tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as CSPO, CISM, CISSP, or PMP.
  • Background in cybersecurity operations, architecture, or consulting.
  • Experience working in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, government, etc.).
