Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a UAE National Data Center Engineering Operations Engineer to join our expanding Data Centers (DC) in cloud regions. This role involves hands-on troubleshooting and operation of electrical and mechanical equipment within data centers.

As an Engineering Operations Engineer, you will operate and maintain AWS data center infrastructure, focusing on safety and efficiency. Responsibilities include overseeing facility operations and ensuring safety procedures are followed.

Key Job Responsibilities

1. Safety: Maintain the highest safety standards, promote a safety culture, and lead safety initiatives.
2. Engineering & Facility Operations: Support electrical and mechanical equipment, including UPSs, switchgear, circuit breakers, ATSs, diesel generators, chillers, HVAC, exhaust fans, VFDs, and transformers. Operate and maintain emergency generators, HVAC, and fire/life safety equipment. Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events, perform root cause analysis, and drive operational cost reductions.

A Day in the Life

• Work rotational shifts of 4 days of 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends, with 4 days off.
• Respond to emergency calls during on-call rotations.
• Take daily operational readings of equipment, supervise contractors, and perform routine rounds.
• Work in outdoor, noisy, and elevated environments, occasionally moving objects/materials within regulatory weight limits.
