A leading company in the UAE is seeking a Legal Assistant to support the Legal Team with advisory services and operational tasks. The role involves conducting legal research, drafting documents, and ensuring compliance with legal standards. Ideal candidates will hold a Bachelor's in Law, with a Master's preferred, and will be trained on the job.
Job Purpose
Assist the Legal Team in providing legal advisory services, administrative, transactional, and operational support in accordance with Nawah legal standards, policies, and procedures.
Key Activities, Responsibilities & Accountability
h3. Legal Advisory Services
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Conduct legal research and assist in data gathering for legal matters by referring to specialized databases, legal libraries, and other sources to form legal opinions, advice, and recommendations.
• Assist in drafting legal opinions, advice, and recommendations on various legal and contractual matters to prevent risks and protect company assets.
• Assist in reviewing and preparing contractual documents to ensure risk mitigation during negotiations.
• Assist in reviewing and analyzing legal documents in response to functional queries to mitigate risks and prevent disputes.
• Assist in preparing presentations on legal and regulatory matters to train and raise awareness within the business.
h3. Transactional and Operational Support
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Assist in preparing legal reports, memoranda, and other documentation to meet business requirements.
• Provide administrative support for obtaining approvals related to Nawah governance, such as registration and power of attorney, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Assist in developing and reviewing standard templates and formats for legal and contractual documents to ensure consistency and efficiency.
• Create purchase requisitions to fulfill Legal Department requirements.
• Manage a legal database to track Service Entry Sheets (SES), Purchase Requisitions (PRs), and Task Orders.
• Review and prepare financial documents and invoices related to legal services.
• Liaise with external stakeholders and suppliers to support legal services, with guidance from senior legal management.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop solutions for legal inquiries, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
• Develop and review legal policies and procedures to ensure documentation of work standards.
The incumbent is expected to perform standard activities as per attachments 4 & 5 in the Job Description procedure (relating to Health, Safety, Environment, Security, Business Continuity, People Management, Excellence, and Quality Management).
