Job Description :

Our client, a prestigious hospital in Dubai , is seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee and lead the nursing department. This role involves strategic planning, operational leadership, and compliance management to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care in line with UAE healthcare regulations and international accreditation standards .

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned nursing leader with extensive hospital management experience and a proven track record in driving clinical excellence .

Key Responsibilities :

Leadership & Management :

  • Provide strategic leadership for the nursing department, ensuring alignment with hospital goals.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee nursing policies, procedures, and best practices .
  • Foster a positive, professional, and collaborative work environment.
  • Lead nursing staff recruitment, training, and professional development programs.
  • Manage departmental budgets, resources, and expenditures effectively.

Quality & Patient Care :

  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with UAE and international healthcare standards .
  • Monitor patient safety, satisfaction, and clinical outcomes , implementing improvements as needed.
  • Oversee infection control and patient safety programs to enhance care quality.
  • Lead initiatives for continuous clinical improvement and nursing excellence .

Regulatory Compliance & Accreditation :

  • Ensure full compliance with Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation standards .
  • Implement hospital policies and procedures in accordance with UAE healthcare laws .
  • Lead preparations for regulatory inspections and audits , ensuring successful accreditation and compliance.

Operational & Administrative Responsibilities :

  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for nursing services.
  • Oversee scheduling, staffing, and workload management to optimize patient care.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership to align nursing operations with strategic goals.
  • Lead incident management and resolution within the nursing department.

Staff Development & Education :

  • Organize continuous education and training programs for nursing staff.
  • Promote professional growth and leadership development within the nursing team.
  • Encourage a culture of evidence-based practice and lifelong learning .

Candidate Requirements :

Education & Certification :

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) Required.
  • Masters Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or equivalent Preferred.
  • Valid DHA License or Eligibility Letter Required.
  • Certification in Healthcare Leadership or Nursing Administration Preferred.

Experience :

  • Minimum 10+ years of nursing experience , with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role .
  • Experience working in JCI-accredited or international-standard hospitals .
  • Strong knowledge of UAE healthcare regulations and hospital operations .
  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities .
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills .
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in healthcare IT systems and nursing documentation .
  • Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and nursing excellence .
