Job Title: Product Costing Manager
We seek a strategic and experienced Product Costing Manager to lead product cost reduction initiatives throughout the product lifecycle. You will develop and execute cost optimization strategies, manage a team, and collaborate across departments to achieve significant savings while maintaining quality and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Reduction Strategy Development: Develop and implement innovative strategies considering design changes, material substitutions, manufacturing improvements, and supply chain optimization aligned with company goals.
- Advanced Cost Analysis and Modeling: Conduct complex cost analyses, ensure accuracy of models, and identify key cost drivers for optimization.
- Value Engineering / Value Analysis: Lead workshops to identify unnecessary costs without sacrificing quality or functionality.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as liaison between Product Costing and other departments, driving collaboration and buy-in for initiatives.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Work with Procurement to develop strategic supplier relationships focused on cost savings and explore innovative sourcing strategies.
- Performance Reporting: Develop plans, and report on cost performance, achievements, and opportunities to senior management.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and support the Product Costing team, fostering a high-performing environment.
- Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks associated with cost reduction initiatives.
- Process Improvement: Continuously improve methodologies and leverage new technologies for cost optimization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's/Master's in Engineering (Mechanical, Aeronautical, Electrical, Industrial, etc.)
- 15+ years in product cost analysis, engineering, or related manufacturing fields, with 2+ years in management
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
- Proven success in leading cost reduction initiatives
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, BOM structures, and supply chain dynamics
- Excellent leadership and mentoring skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, data-driven decision-making
