Assistant, Associate Professor in Sociology

The College of Humanities and Sciences at Ajman University is seeking applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor in Sociology, starting Fall semester 2025-2026.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • PhD from an accredited university (preferably in the United Arab Emirates).
  • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in an academic institution applying the credit hour system.
  • Published papers in journals indexed in global databases such as Scopus.
  • Fluency in both Arabic and English is required, with Arabic being essential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and deliver courses in specified discipline areas, aligning with the university's standards of Teaching, Research, and Service.
  • Evaluate and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support student success.
  • Manage instructional resources, course outlines, and community networks effectively.
  • Seek innovative methods and resources to achieve course objectives.
  • Participate in accreditation initiatives and other university duties as assigned.

Skills Required:

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in developing and delivering presentations.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse communities.
