Our leading global design consultancy client has a new requirement for a well-experienced Senior Architect / Project Leader to join their team in Dubai, UAE, working on high-profile and iconic new build projects in the Emirates.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Lead Architect and management staff.
- Prepare drawings, specifications, presentations, reports, cost estimates, and construction material recommendations.
- Assist in preparing and administering concept, schematic, detailed design, and construction documents.
- Adapt plans according to circumstances and resolve issues to adhere to project timelines and budgets.
- Ensure all work complies with standards, building codes, guidelines, and regulations.
- Research and recommend building products for value and efficiency.
- Produce building plans using CAD software and technical drawing tools.
- Ensure designs meet client requirements, including budget and timelines.
- Lead the design development process from concept to construction documentation, overseeing multidisciplinary teams.
- Coordinate with consultants, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Serve as Project Leader or Design Lead, managing the full project lifecycle.
- Monitor project progress, manage deliverables, and mitigate risks.
- Mentor junior staff and share knowledge within the organization.
- Act as the primary liaison with clients, government agencies, and approval authorities.
- Lead presentations, design reviews, and incorporate feedback.
- Support business development activities.
- Ensure compliance with building codes and sustainability guidelines.
- Conduct quality control reviews.
- Contribute to strategic design approaches and project delivery methodologies.
- Assist in project budgeting and procurement.
- Adapt designs and strategies based on project and client needs.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Architecture; MSc preferred.
- At least 15 years postgraduate experience in architecture, focusing on iconic regional projects.
- Proven track record managing complex projects from inception to completion.
- Comprehensive understanding of project delivery methods.
- Strong stakeholder management and engagement skills.
- Leadership experience in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work within a team, mentor, and support colleagues.
