Job description

Our leading global design consultancy client has a new requirement for a well-experienced Senior Architect / Project Leader to join their team in Dubai, UAE, working on high-profile and iconic new build projects in the Emirates.

Responsibilities:

1. Support the Lead Architect and management staff.
2. Prepare drawings, specifications, presentations, reports, cost estimates, and construction material recommendations.
3. Assist in preparing and administering concept, schematic, detailed design, and construction documents.
4. Adapt plans according to circumstances and resolve issues to adhere to project timelines and budgets.
5. Ensure all work complies with standards, building codes, guidelines, and regulations.
6. Research and recommend building products for value and efficiency.
7. Produce building plans using CAD software and technical drawing tools.
8. Ensure designs meet client requirements, including budget and timelines.
9. Lead the design development process from concept to construction documentation, overseeing multidisciplinary teams.
10. Coordinate with consultants, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders.
11. Serve as Project Leader or Design Lead, managing the full project lifecycle.
12. Monitor project progress, manage deliverables, and mitigate risks.
13. Mentor junior staff and share knowledge within the organization.
14. Act as the primary liaison with clients, government agencies, and approval authorities.
15. Lead presentations, design reviews, and incorporate feedback.
16. Support business development activities.
17. Ensure compliance with building codes and sustainability guidelines.
18. Conduct quality control reviews.
19. Contribute to strategic design approaches and project delivery methodologies.
20. Assist in project budgeting and procurement.
21. Adapt designs and strategies based on project and client needs.

Experience and Qualifications:

1. Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Architecture; MSc preferred.
2. At least 15 years postgraduate experience in architecture, focusing on iconic regional projects.
3. Proven track record managing complex projects from inception to completion.
4. Comprehensive understanding of project delivery methods.
5. Strong stakeholder management and engagement skills.
6. Leadership experience in cross-functional teams.
7. Ability to work within a team, mentor, and support colleagues.
8. Proactive, flexible, resourceful, and innovative.
