The role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to join our UAE Business Unit.

Wood has been awarded a general engineering contract to support an international client operator in delivering a portfolio of onshore capital projects. Services include engineering, project management (including EPC contract management), supply chain, construction, and commissioning support from Wood Iraq and UAE offices. Projects involve both Greenfield and Brownfield modifications, integrating low-carbon solutions to support energy transition and emissions reduction.

Key Objectives

• Specialist Engineer in Engineering Design & Detailing of Civil & Structural works for Oil and Gas projects.
• Hands-on experience in design of rotating equipment/dynamic foundations.
• Experience in developing specifications and design basis.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant codes (especially American codes), standards, regulations, and procedures.
• Proficiency in STAAD / Foundation Design Suite software for analysis and design.
• Experience with model review in Navisworks/SP3D/E3D/PDS/PDMS platforms.
• Experience in preparing design calculations via Excel spreadsheets is a plus.
• Achieve safety standards as per personal performance contract.
• Continuously improve working practices and systems.
• Work in accordance with health, safety, environmental, and quality systems.
• Maintain technical quality of work.
• Identify scope and schedule changes per the Change Control Process.
• Maintain planning and cost control on all scopes.
• Provide technical assistance to discipline personnel.
• Ensure work is completed within budget and schedule.
• Stay updated with technical developments and standards.
• Review, prepare, check, and approve work outputs.
• Assist in estimating and scheduling.
• Maintain good communication with clients.
• Maintain discipline filing system.
• Encourage lateral learning within the project team.

QUALIFICATIONS
