Job description

Support establishing, managing, and monitoring governance aspects of Investment Products and Solutions.

Ensure investment policies and processes are aligned with governance frameworks and relevant regulations.

Manage affairs of various investment committees.

Develop and manage governance dashboards for the investment solutions department.

Conduct due diligence of fund/investment products' performance on regular or ad hoc basis.

Assist in completing due diligence questionnaires of third-party service providers.

Lead in the areas of Regulatory Governance, Risk, and Compliance, ensuring risks are identified, controlled, and managed for GPB.

Work closely with local and international stakeholders to implement best practices, maintain a strong control environment, and proactively resolve issues.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Monitor and assess investment processes to ensure compliance with FAB policies and regulations.
  2. Support the development of governance strategies and reporting mechanisms based on investment-related processes and regulations.
  3. Conduct risk assessments related to governance aspects of investment products, programs, SOPs, regulatory reporting, etc.
  4. Assist in creating and maintaining the Risk Control Self-Assessment plan annually and ensure timely closure of the process.
  5. Monitor changes in financial regulations and governance standards affecting investment activities, and suggest policy and process updates.
  6. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, industry standards, and reporting requirements.
  7. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams within FAB to align investments with governance regulations.
  8. Facilitate communication between investment teams, senior management, and stakeholders on governance issues.
  9. Prepare and present reports, analyses, and recommendations on governance, compliance, and investment performance.
  10. Maintain relationships with external regulatory bodies, auditors, and other stakeholders to ensure adherence to governance practices.
  11. Provide training and guidance to investment staff on governance policies and best practices.
  12. Continuously educate the investment team on emerging trends and regulatory changes in governance.
  13. Collaborate with management and investment teams to integrate governance factors into strategic investment planning.
  14. Keep investment solution policy and process documents up to date.
  15. Act as the point of contact for the product team during internal and compliance audits, managing the resolution of audit points timely.
  16. Serve as Secretary of the Investment Products Steering Committee and Investment Committee, including updating TORs, scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and tracking actions.
  17. Conduct quarterly Product Exposure Meetings, prepare minutes, and circulate to management.
  18. Lead the Investment Products & Solutions policy framework and procedures.
  19. Prepare and circulate MIS reports for products and service management.
  20. Prepare regulatory filings (applications, supporting documents, etc.).
  21. Review new regulations and oversee their implementation for EPB.
  22. Ensure renewal of regulatory licenses and compliance with requirements, including accreditation of professional staff, and provide feedback on draft regulations.
  23. Lead client investment suitability questionnaires, product risk rating policies, governance, and annual reviews.
  24. Develop and manage policy frameworks for complex and non-complex products in line with regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • At least 10 to 15 years of experience in governance related to investments, asset management, or investment banking regulatory reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related industry qualification.
  • Professional qualifications such as FRM, CFA, ACA, or ACCA are mandatory.
  • Deep experience in investment product development lifecycle, management, broader investment management business, fund structures, and regulations.
  • Attention to deadlines, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
  • Team player with a positive attitude, excellent communication skills (verbal and written), and the ability to operate independently.
