Job Opportunity for Authority Laison Architect (Authority / Project Coordinator)
Education: B. Arch
Skills: Revit Architecture, Adobe Photoshop & MS Office, Technical Report Writing, Arabic / English documentation, translation & correspondence skills. Preferably native Arabic speaker with good command of English.
Key requirement: Knowledge of local authority regulations / portals in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, including submission process and format.
Driving License: Required for the job
Experience: 5+ years in the required role.
Main Responsibilities:
- Contribute to controlling the project from initial proposal to BCC as part of the Business and Management Team.
- Formulate and execute strategies for obtaining approvals on a timely basis, including exception approvals, in conjunction with the Business and Management Team.
- Review client requirements/design brief and provide solutions conforming to authorities' requirements and exception approvals if needed.
- Lead authority transactions across UAE based on project location: Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and other locations with projects.
- Support project leads or design team members to ensure accuracy in scheduling deliverables concerning authority requirements and project deadlines.
- Spearhead the preparation and review of authority submissions (online and physical).
- Ensure timely actions and maintain schedules to obtain approvals efficiently.
- Maintain a checklist of approvals and NOCs required from various authorities for each project.
- Keep the team updated on existing and new regulations of authorities, maintaining proper records.
- Attend technical discussions at municipalities.
- Research and acquire all authority requirements per project type.
- Review designs to ensure compliance with relevant codes and authority standards.
- Prepare and maintain project documents for authority submissions and approvals, including correspondence, minutes of meetings, notes, and submission documents.
- Support the development of concept, schematic, and detailed designs, as well as construction documents.
- Utilize expertise in Revit & BIM.
- Prepare and present design proposals to clients and authorities.
- Contribute to data insights initiatives and lessons learned database.
- Collaborate with the technology team to automate authority processes and requirements.
- Maintain project documentation such as correspondence, meeting minutes, and notes.
- Liaise with local authorities and attend technical meetings.
- Travel to sites for inspections and surveys.
- Assist HR in technical interviews for design staff recruitment.
- Continuously learn and share updated authority requirements and guidelines with team members.
