What Does a Quantitative Analyst Do in Global Markets?
- Develop pricing and risk models for global markets products including equities, FX, fixed income, and commodities
- Support traders and structurers by delivering advanced analytics, quantitative tools, and strategic solutions
- Perform market analysis, scenario testing, and stress modeling to improve trading performance and manage risk
- Build algorithms for trading and contribute to automation initiatives for front office functions
- Collaborate with IT, data science, risk, compliance, and trading teams to develop scalable tools and infrastructure
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Design and enhance quantitative pricing models using mathematical and statistical methods
- Conduct model validation, regulatory documentation, and ensure compliance with internal frameworks
- Work on curve construction and calibration in close alignment with trading desks
- Lead and mentor junior quants and analysts within the team
- Collaborate on building robust libraries and tools in Python, VBA, and C++
- Identify new product opportunities and provide analytical frameworks for their evaluation
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting, risk monitoring, and adherence to internal limits
- Participate in cross-functional knowledge sharing, improving curve models, and refining trading strategies
What Skills Are Needed for a Quantitative Analyst Role in Abu Dhabi?
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or Physics
Experience:
- Minimum 6 years in a front-office quant or trading analytics role in financial services
- Proven expertise in developing and applying quantitative financial models
- Strong understanding of market structures, derivatives pricing, and regulatory frameworks
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Python, VBA, C++, and quantitative libraries
- Excellent knowledge of pricing, hedging, and risk assessment for global markets instruments
- Experience with curve construction, financial modelling, and analytics platform development
