Position Summary:

This role supports Pre-Opening Finance activities within the EMEA region, focusing on Middle East markets. It involves managing finance projects related to systems and reporting, overseeing learning and development for finance staff across EMEA, and supporting corporate finance teams and hotels with ongoing activities and ad hoc projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Pre-Opening Finance:
  • Manage the entire finance pre-opening process for hotels in the Middle East & Africa, collaborating with the Pre-Opening Operations team and owner’s representatives.
  • Coordinate and schedule the induction program for the Hotel Finance Team.
  • Monitor pre-opening budget expenditures against the plan before and after the Hotel Finance Team’s arrival.
  • Coordinate system implementations and setups with relevant functions (Back Office, Propplan, Affiliated, OA, etc.).
  • Own the Pre-Opening check list for finance, ensuring completion before recruitment and monitoring progress post-arrival.
  • Support the hotel team in delivering the first operational budget and coordinate validation and sign-off before communicating to owners.
  • Ensure internal processes are established at the property before opening.

Learning & Development, Performance Management, and Support:

  • Manage the EMEA hotel learning & development programs and strategy.
  • Build effective relationships with key stakeholders across EMEA.
  • Lead projects that identify and realize margin improvement opportunities.
  • Design and develop analysis tools.
  • Analyze and report on profit improvement initiatives, such as productivity analysis and benchmarking.
  • Conduct ad hoc project analysis and assessments.

What are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Management or supervisory experience, preferably in hotel finance or a relevant accounting environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%.
