JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is presently looking to hire an Energy Management Engineer for ADNOC Offshore Central Engineering Division in Abu Dhabi. Below are more details about the position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Establishing, implementing and managing ADNOC Offshore Energy Management System (EnMS) as per ADNOC and ISO 50001 requirements, including carrying out periodic meetings, trainings, awareness activities, identifying and assessing energy performance improvement actions (including operational assets as well as projects), internal & external audits and reporting the status of the energy performance to the management.

Key Accountabilities:

  2. Roll out, coordinate and ensure proper implementation of the Energy management organization throughout the company, including ensuring periodic meetings of all energy teams and energy committees at corporate level as well as at sites level. Establish and maintain the Company Energy Management System (EnMS) as per ADNOC and ISO50001 requirements in order to achieve and sustain ISO50001 certification including the preparation of all required energy management policies, manuals, procedures and guidelines.
  3. Establish an energy data reporting system to assess periodically the energy performance of all existing operational assets and facilities, coordinating with local energy teams to carry out periodic Energy Reviews (ERs), developing energy baselines (EBs), identifying Significant Energy Uses (SEUs), establishing energy performance indicators (EnPIs), and setting energy performance benchmarks. Work closely with site operational teams and Asset representatives to collect data regularly, ensure its credibility and generate periodic site energy reports.
  4. Identify, in coordination with Assets' energy teams, achievable energy performance improvement actions (EPIAs), set energy objectives & targets, and develop detailed action plans. Monitor progress, stay updated on new technologies and best practices for energy efficiency, and assess opportunities for implementing best available techniques (BATs) across assets and projects.
  5. Conduct internal EnMS audits to monitor performance and ensure continual improvement, assist in external audits, and support certification processes.
  6. Manage energy management studies by preparing scope of work for consultants, evaluating bids, overseeing studies, and ensuring compliance with standards and schedules. Support in-house energy optimization studies and external consultancy projects.
  7. Support engineering and project teams during all project phases to embed Energy Efficient Design (EED) and Design for Energy Management (DfEM) principles.
  8. Coordinate procurement processes to ensure energy efficiency requirements are met, and share best practices with other OPCOs.
  9. Report energy performance to ADNOC, participate in related activities, and support training initiatives.
  10. Address assigned tasks within energy management discipline and provide training to UAE Nationals.

  • Internal: Engineering teams, energy committees, operational divisions.
  • External: ADNOC groups, external consultants, stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor Degree in Chemical / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum 12 years in oil & gas / process industry or consulting, with 5 years in energy management.
  • Knowledge of international energy standards, proficiency in English, MS Office skills, strong communication skills.
  • Membership in recognized energy forums is advantageous.
Certifications:

  • ISO 50001 Lead Auditor (preferred), energy management certification (advantage).
Technical Competencies:

  • Knowledge of offshore E&P processes, energy equipment, ADNOC codes, and energy efficiency calculations.
Behavioral Competencies:

  • Willingness to travel offshore, adaptable to work culture, professional interaction.
