A leading hotel in Dubai seeks a Mechanical Technician to perform preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment and assist with repairs. The role requires a technical degree and relevant experience in maintenance, emphasizing customer service and teamwork. POSITION PURPOSE
To perform preventive maintenance tasks on all mechanical equipment and assist with other maintenance work as directed. To handle requests and work orders related to mechanical systems and other related systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Execute repairs and exchanges of mechanical installations and equipment. Submit reports to the Foreman and procurement regarding equipment and component conditions. Ensure all work orders and requests are completed, and that all areas are left safe and operational, with proper use and security of personnel and equipment.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Revenues, profits, cost effectiveness, and ROI:
Manage the spare parts control system effectively, sourcing high-quality products that meet standards without compromising cost management.
Maintain equipment and tools in good condition, keep stores organized, and ensure the workshop is clean, tidy, and well-stocked.
Initiate supply orders and maintain records of work completed.
Management of human resources:
Show interest in learning new technologies and products aligned with hotel standards and brand values. Participate in training programs to enhance productivity and work environment. Attend technical training and ensure proper implementation.
Assist other tradesmen as directed and conduct oneself in a professional manner to encourage a positive work environment. Maintain courteous and helpful conduct at all times.
Upkeep of physical plants and building:
Regularly inspect motors, switchgear, pumps, and other mechanical equipment. Use PAT testers for installations and equipment, maintaining accurate records. Complete scheduled maintenance tasks and weekly plant room routines.
Keep all tools in good working order. Submit timely, accurate reports on equipment condition to the foreman and Director of Engineering.
Sustainable management and community activity:
Contribute to energy-saving initiatives aligned with the hotel's environmental policies and Marriott's 30/20 plan. Seek new technologies supporting energy efficiency and participate in community events.
Safety and security:
Consistently use lockout/tagout procedures for safety. Work safely, considering guests, staff, equipment, and property. Follow scheduled control measures and risk assessments. Participate in fire prevention and evacuation procedures.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Possess relevant experience and embody customer service philosophy. Demonstrate a warm, friendly demeanor, attention to detail, teamwork, professional presentation, confidence, enthusiasm, and ethical practices.
EDUCATION
Technical degree required.
PSYCHICAL CONDITION REQUIRED FOR YOUR ROLE
Ability to lift, stand for extended periods, sit during shifts, etc.
