Job description

Install and maintain wiring, control, and lighting systems. Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers. Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Investigate problems and perform repairs on various mechanical and electrical equipment.
2. Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
3. Monitor and inspect heating and cooling systems to ensure proper operation.
4. Install and maintain electrical equipment, motors, and electrical panels.
5. Lay out wiring for lighting systems.
6. Perform general and preventative maintenance on electrical systems.
7. Ensure installations meet set standards.
8. Secure and connect loose wires properly.
9. Check motors and belts; handle lubrication duties.
10. Replace worn-out parts and filters.
11. Order supplies and equipment needed for electrical maintenance or installation.
12. Ensure availability of items needed for electrical projects.
13. Respond promptly to emergency situations to resolve issues.
14. Maintain tools and equipment.
15. Replace faulty or expired parts in electrical systems.
16. Follow building policies and standards.
17. Ensure the fire alarm system is secure.
18. Update chilled water readings.
19. Manage Building Management System (BMS).
20. Ensure proper treatment of chilled water chemicals.
21. Maintain, install, and repair electrical components of equipment such as boilers, doors, fans, lights, receptacles, motors, heaters, bleachers, and alarm systems.
22. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair emergency generators (change oil, filters, belts, etc.).

Skills Required :

1. Strong understanding of reading and interpreting instructions and safety procedures related to electrical work.
2. Proficient in using hand and power tools and electrical tools.
3. Experience in handling electronic and mechanical systems effectively.
4. Ability to provide technical assistance in the design and implementation of electrical systems.

Qualifications :

1. Knowledge of commercial mechanical and electrical systems.
2. Familiarity with blueprints.
3. Ability to repair electrical systems.
4. Skill in operating electric motors safely.
5. Knowledge of standard parts and catalogs used by electrical distributors.
6. Understanding of safety rules, especially related to electrical work.
