Medical Transcriptionist

Job Responsibilities

1. Interpret and transcribe a variety of medical reports and correspondence regarding patients’ assessment, workup, therapeutic procedures, clinical course, diagnoses, prognosis, etc., to document and facilitate delivery of healthcare.
2. Operate and utilize designated word processing, dictation, and transcription equipment as directed to complete assignments.
3. Meet the required efficiency set by the doctors/department.
4. Provide quality transcription by using proper resources and proofreading own work.
5. Ensure the confidentiality of the contents of the reports transcribed.
6. Demonstrate excellent listening, written, and oral communication skills, including proper English usage, grammar, punctuation, and style.
7. Assist and coordinate department admin work.
8. Work under pressure with time constraints.
9. Follow department/doctors’ formats when preparing reports.
10. Understand diverse accents and varying dictation styles.
11. Exhibit good eye, hand, and auditory coordination.
12. Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards, and procedures, and cooperate with hospital management to meet these requirements.
13. Work in accordance with the documented OSH procedures and instructions.
14. Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
15. Notify OSH hazards, incidents, near misses, and issues, and assist with the preparation of risk assessments and incident reports.
16. Comply with waste management procedures and policies.
17. Attend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills, and awareness sessions.
18. Use appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems.

Desired Candidate Profile

1. High School Level or its equivalent
2. Qualification: Graduate
3. Experience: At least 2 years as Medical Transcriptionist
4. Skill set: Ability to transcribe medical/audio files with 100% quality.
5. Excellent command of oral and written English; Arabic desirable but not mandatory.
