Regional Head of Human Resources - West, Central and Southern Africa

We build, acquire, lease, and operate telecommunications towers that accommodate and power the needs of multiple tenants. Our tenants are major Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), and we serve them across nine high-growth markets (eight in Africa and Oman in the Middle East). Overview

The Regional Head of Human Resources will develop, implement, and monitor the Group’s HR strategies, policies, and procedures for the West, Central, and Southern Africa region. The role involves working closely with the Regional CEO and the Regional Executive team to align policies with strategic regional and business goals. Additionally, the role oversees the HR team and collaborates with HR Heads / Managers in the region to harmonize HR processes, improve performance, and enhance the HR function's reputation.

Role Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing policies to attract, retain, and develop talent in each market.
  • Ensuring performance management processes are in place for consistency and compliance, including performance improvement and disciplinary procedures.
  • Working with each OpCo / location to define and monitor the annual SG&A / HR budget in collaboration with Group Finance.
  • Overseeing the annual bonus and pay review process with support from the group Compensation and Benefits team.
  • Collaborating with the group center of excellence to support training, compensation, benefits, and talent acquisition in the region.
  • Monitoring employment legislation developments in the region and implementing compliance actions.
  • Allocating internal and external resources for recruitment in your markets or new market entries, with support from the Talent Acquisition Manager.

Role Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years’ HR experience, with at least 5 years managing a regional scope across multiple countries, preferably in Africa.
  • Training certifications : CIPD Level 7 / Master in HR or Employment Law.
  • Degree in employment law preferred.
  • Solid experience in employment law, employee relations, grievance, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Experience overseeing HR functions in multiple markets.
  • Bilingual in French and English is mandatory.
  • Experience working in or with African French-speaking countries is an advantage.
  • Experience managing unions and employee representatives.
  • Expertise in employee engagement, compensation, rewards, benefits, talent management, learning and development, and performance management.
