Job description

The Technology and Career Centre (TCC) Supervisor is responsible for the operational management, maintenance, and safety compliance of the TCC Building, encompassing diverse workshops such as mobility, jewellery, culinary, building materials, electrical installation, healthcare, cosmetics, media, programming and gaming, carpentry, fashion design, and smart agriculture. The role requires an industrial engineering professional with hands-on experience in workshop equipment and machinery for vocational centres, ensuring optimal functionality, safety, and alignment with educational objectives.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Equipment & Machinery Management :

• Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules in line with OEM guidelines.
• Develop Requests for Proposal (RFPs) for machines and equipment Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs).
• Develop and manage spare parts and consumables inventory to ensure minimal downtime.
• Supervise the installation, calibration, and testing of existing and new equipment.
• Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for equipment usage and maintenance.
• Conduct life cycle analysis and condition assessment reports for all equipment .

2. Asset Management :

• Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all equipment and tools across workshops.
• Implement asset tagging and tracking systems for efficient asset management.
• Prepare and manage AMCs for all major equipment.
• Analyze equipment lifecycle to inform procurement and replacement decisions.
• Prepare market price lists for all spare parts and consumables.

3. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) :

• Ensure all workshops comply with local and international HSE standards.
• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
• Manage Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all machines and materials.
• Organize training sessions on equipment safety and emergency procedures.
• Maintain records of safety incidents and implement corrective actions.

4. Facility Management :

• Oversee the general maintenance of the TCC Building, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and other infrastructural elements.
• Coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance tasks.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of all workshop spaces.
• Manage utility services to ensure uninterrupted operations.
• Manage all services such as cleaning, security, catering, transportation, pest control, etc.

5. Administrative and Reporting :

• Develop and manage budgets related to equipment maintenance and facility operations.
• Prepare reports on equipment status, maintenance activities, and safety compliance.
• Liaise with academic staff to align workshop operations with curriculum requirements.
• Stay updated with technological advancements relevant to vocational training.

The role requires regular interaction with workshop environments, necessitating adherence to safety protocols. The supervisor will be expected to conduct physical inspections and may occasionally need to operate equipment for testing purposes.

Experience :

• Minimum of 5 years in managing vocational training workshops or similar facilities.
• Proven experience in equipment maintenance, safety compliance, and facility management.
• Familiarity with a broad range of workshop equipment and tools.

Education / Certifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.

Certifications : Preferably possess relevant professional certifications such as :

• Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE) – SME
• Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) – SMRP
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
• Certified Technology Manager (CTM) – ATMAE
• Project Management Professional (PMP)

• Effective communication skills in English and Arabic (Bilingual)
