Job description

Work closely with Essen management & be responsible for developing commercial and business development strategies that are optimised for both short-term results and long-term strategy. Responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and optimising commercial operations and procurement within the steel industry. Have a strong background in steel coil sales, market intelligence, procurement & strategic business development. Create strategies and metrics to ensure the business stays on track with its objectives and exceeds targets. Work with various departments on the budgeting, sales processes, procurement & marketing strategies to ensure the company can achieve its goals. Primary focus is to drive revenue generation, business growth, & profitability.

Sales Strategy & Business Development:
  • Develop and implement a sales strategy to expand market share in HR, CR, GI, PPGI, SS, and other steel coils.
  • Build and manage relationships with key customers, distributors, and industrial buyers in domestic and international markets.
  • Set and achieve sales targets, revenue forecasts, and profitability objectives.
  • Drive customer acquisition, retention, and satisfaction strategies through competitive pricing and customized solutions.
  • Identify new business opportunities in manufacturing, construction, automotive, and other steel-consuming industries.
  • Develop a commercial strategy focused on maximizing profitability, cost optimization, and competitive pricing.
  • Negotiate and manage high-value contracts, bulk orders, and long-term supply agreements.
  • Collaborate with finance and operations teams to develop budget forecasts, sales reports, and margin analysis.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with trade regulations, pricing policies, and contractual obligations.
  • Work closely with logistics and operations to optimize inventory management and supply chain efficiency.
  • Develop and oversee the procurement strategy for steel coils, ensuring a cost-effective and reliable supply chain.
  • Identify and establish relationships with reputable suppliers and mills to secure high-quality materials at the best price.
  • Negotiate purchase agreements, pricing terms, and payment conditions to optimize procurement costs.
  • Monitor global steel market trends, raw material availability, and supplier performance to anticipate market shifts.
Desired Candidate Profile
  • Management Degree or equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience in steel coil sales, procurement, and commercial strategy.
  • Strong knowledge of steel industry trends, global supply chains, and raw material procurement.
  • Extensive experience developing and executing commercial strategies
  • Customer relationship management and conflict management skills
  • Commercially astute and highly motivated leader who is passionate about driving business success
  • Strong track record of success in a senior sales leadership role including prior experience as Head of Sales.
  • Expertise in negotiation, vendor management, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations.
  • Experience in import/export operations, trade policies, and supplier relationship management.
  • Successfully built, scaled, and led high-performing sales team.
  • Strong experience in consultative sales and possess the ability to prospect and manage senior-level relationships.
  • Possess good IT skills in line with the need of the function
  • Highly goal oriented and possess excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker & problem solver with the ability to be hands-on.
