We are currently seeking an experienced Tax professional to join our Group Tax team as a Tax Manager.

Overview of the Role

The Tax Manager will be responsible for ensuring proper accounting of the Group's taxes in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and assisting with other Group Tax activities such as tax provision reviews, tax accounting advisory, and related workstreams. The successful candidate will work closely with various businesses, service providers, and tax professionals.

What You Will Do
Pillar II
  • Manage the tax accounting implications of Pillar 2, including Domestic Minimum Top-up Tax (DMTT), ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Assess the impact of DMTT and Pillar 2 on tax liabilities, deferred tax assets/liabilities, and effective tax rate considerations, ensuring accurate reporting and IFRS alignment.
Corporate Tax Compliance
  • Manage tax compliance to adhere to local tax laws.
  • Implement the Al Futtaim Group's Tax Operating Model across all geographies.
Tax Accounting Advisory
  • Lead preparation of tax accounting position memos, especially on complex transactions, restructurings, and M&As, considering current and deferred tax implications.
  • Provide tax accounting advice on various transactions, aligned with standards like IAS 12.
Tax Accounting Readiness for New Standards
  • Assist in determining tax implications of new IFRS standards before their adoption and help develop roadmaps for implementation.
Legislative Developments
  • Monitor global tax and accounting developments affecting the Group.
  • Review and assist with the Group's tax provisions and disclosures in financial statements.
Automation
  • Support tax accounting system issues and automation initiatives.
Required Skills
  • Accounting degree with qualifications like ACCA or CPA.
  • Experience in tax compliance and advisory across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).
  • Strong project management, organizational, and presentation skills.
What Qualifies You for the Role
  • 8-10 years of tax accounting experience with IFRS exposure.
  • At least 5 years in tax compliance or advisory.
  • Big 4 experience preferred; industry experience is a plus.
