Job Purpose
As a Workshop Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out maintenance tasks on Emirates and third-party aircraft components in accordance with company procedures and regulations. The Aircraft Technician works as part of a team under the guidance of a Licensed Aircraft Engineer within the appropriate trade/cross trade disciplines for which they have been trained.
In this role, you will
- Carry out routine aircraft/engine/component servicing, maintenance, and approved structural repairs following manufacturers' procedures, while observing all safety procedures for fluid replenishment, aircraft refuelling, and systems servicing.
- Complete component replacements and other maintenance activities as directed by your supervisor, including understanding and using Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Illustrated Parts Catalogue (IPC), and Component Maintenance Manual (CMM).
- Assist Licensed Aircraft Engineers in troubleshooting, defect rectifications, and modifications, following instructions on job cards.
- Promote a safety culture to minimize accidents, report safety deficiencies, and maintain cleanliness and FOD-free work areas, including ramp, vehicles, stands, and lockers.
- Maintain knowledge of airport safety regulations, including holding a valid Airport Driving Permit, and comply with airport manoeuvring area requirements.
- Manage performance through close collaboration with your supervisor, using the MyBC system to develop training and development plans.
- Ensure prompt attendance to tasks to maximize ground time and prevent operational delays, communicating defects and shift handover information effectively.
- Utilize your aircraft maintenance knowledge to assist in resource allocation using RMS / RTC when required.
Qualifications & Experience
Engineering 5+ Years
Vocational or Diploma (12+2 or equivalent):
Knowledge/Skills
- Diploma/Higher National Diploma or Apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electronic, Avionics, or Aeronautical Engineering, or equivalent training with a reputable airline or maintenance organization, or an Aircraft Maintenance License.
- At least 5 years of post-training experience in aircraft maintenance or structures/component maintenance.
Safety Sensitive Role - ENA
- Working at height, exposure to hazardous energy systems, heavy lifting, working with motorized equipment, confined spaces, contact with hazardous materials, dangerous goods, noisy environments, heat, pressurized substances, sharp objects, and moving/falling objects.
- Valid airport driving permit is required.
