Job Brief:

A leading equipment trading company in Dubai is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Procurement Manager with a strong background in import/export operations and port clearing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, managing supplier relationships, ensuring regulatory compliance in port operations, and driving cost-effective sourcing strategies.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and execute strategic procurement plans in alignment with organizational objectives.
  2. Manage the sourcing, negotiation, and contracting process with local and international suppliers.
  3. Supervise port clearing operations, ensuring all customs documentation, freight forwarding, and clearance procedures are completed efficiently.
  4. Coordinate with shipping lines, customs officials, and clearing agents to facilitate the timely release of goods.
  5. Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, contracts, and port operations.
  6. Monitor supplier performance and ensure adherence to contractual terms.
  7. Manage inventory levels in collaboration with warehouse and logistics teams.
  8. Identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
  9. Track and report procurement KPIs, focusing on cost optimization and efficiency.
  10. Build and maintain strong vendor and supplier relationships to ensure reliable sourcing.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of procurement experience in the UAE, specifically in port clearing, import/export, and logistics operations (mandatory).
  • In-depth understanding of local and international procurement regulations and customs procedures.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience in a similar industry (equipment trading or logistics) is preferred.
