Job Brief:
A leading equipment trading company in Dubai is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Procurement Manager with a strong background in import/export operations and port clearing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, managing supplier relationships, ensuring regulatory compliance in port operations, and driving cost-effective sourcing strategies.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic procurement plans in alignment with organizational objectives.
- Manage the sourcing, negotiation, and contracting process with local and international suppliers.
- Supervise port clearing operations, ensuring all customs documentation, freight forwarding, and clearance procedures are completed efficiently.
- Coordinate with shipping lines, customs officials, and clearing agents to facilitate the timely release of goods.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, contracts, and port operations.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure adherence to contractual terms.
- Manage inventory levels in collaboration with warehouse and logistics teams.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Track and report procurement KPIs, focusing on cost optimization and efficiency.
- Build and maintain strong vendor and supplier relationships to ensure reliable sourcing.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 7-10 years of procurement experience in the UAE, specifically in port clearing, import/export, and logistics operations (mandatory).
- In-depth understanding of local and international procurement regulations and customs procedures.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office tools.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Prior experience in a similar industry (equipment trading or logistics) is preferred.
