Job description

Purpose of the role:

The Assistant Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing comprehensive financial reporting across multiple legal entities and geographies. This includes month-end and year-end closing processes, financial statements, VAT and corporate tax compliance and filing, financial analysis, audit support, and the implementation of internal controls. The role also involves driving process improvements and handling ad-hoc projects. The Assistant Financial Controller collaborates with the finance team to ensure the successful completion of all financial tasks.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

  1. Verifying and posting all financial entries in financial systems such as SAGE, MS Dynamics, and Microsys.
  2. Ensuring revenue and expenses are correctly posted to the appropriate general ledger codes.
  3. Managing timely closing of books and submitting consolidated financial statements to the Director by the due date, with a monthly deadline of the 12th.
  4. Closing sales and cost of sales by the 4th working day of each month to report sales and gross profit by the 5th.
  5. Reviewing and reconciling the general ledger and preparing account schedules supporting income statements and balance sheets.
  6. Leading the finance team to ensure timely closing of books and guiding team members.
  7. Providing support to team members during absences to complete routine tasks.
  1. Ensuring VAT input and output are accurately recorded and VAT returns are filed on time.
  2. Ensuring corporate tax calculations and filings are completed punctually.
  3. Assisting the Finance Director with routine and ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis.
  4. Preparing cash flow statements with the help of Accounts Receivables and Payables Executives.
  5. Verifying and signing off all payment vouchers before approval by the Financial Director.
  6. Verifying and processing customer refunds.
  7. Acting as a business partner for internal stakeholders to improve processes, reduce redundancy, and decrease turnaround time while maintaining internal controls.

Professional Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent; qualified Professional Accountant (CA/ACCA or similar).

Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience within the GCC region.

Excellent verbal and written English skills; knowledge of Urdu, Hindi, or Malayalam is desirable.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems such as MS Dynamics and SAGE.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; team-oriented attitude.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Discretion in handling confidential information.

Positive, proactive team player with a can-do attitude.

Job Details:

Type: Full-time (Monday to Friday)

Salary: AED 13,000/month + Medical + Annual Airfare
