Job description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced BIM Manager to lead our Building Information Modeling (BIM) initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the implementation, management, and continuous improvement of BIM processes and standards across our projects. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, ensuring effective integration of BIM technologies and methodologies to enhance project delivery and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
  • BIM Implementation and Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive BIM strategy that aligns with the organization's goals. Establish and maintain BIM standards and protocols to ensure consistency and quality across all projects.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of BIM professionals, fostering a collaborative environment. Provide guidance on best practices, software utilization, and innovative approaches to BIM.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to facilitate seamless communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Software Management: Oversee the selection and implementation of BIM software and tools, ensuring the team is proficient in their use. Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and evaluate new technologies for potential adoption.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular audits and reviews of BIM models to ensure adherence to established standards and project requirements. Implement quality control measures to mitigate errors and improve model accuracy.
  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs for staff on BIM tools, processes, and best practices. Encourage ongoing professional development to keep the team informed of industry trends.
  • Client Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for BIM-related inquiries from clients and stakeholders. Demonstrate the value of BIM through presentations and project demonstrations.
  • Data Management: Manage data exchange and collaboration between various disciplines, ensuring accurate and timely information flow. Oversee the integration of BIM with other systems, such as GIS and project management software.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present regular reports on BIM progress, challenges, and outcomes to senior management. Document processes and maintain comprehensive records of BIM activities.
Requirements
  • Educational Background: A degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required. A postgraduate qualification in BIM or digital construction is a plus.
  • Experience: A minimum of 8 - 10 years of experience in BIM management or a related role, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
  • Software Proficiency: Expertise in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, and familiarity with other design tools and technologies (e.g., ArchiCAD, Tekla). Knowledge of BIM-related coding and scripting (e.g., Dynamo) is advantageous.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications in BIM or related fields (e.g., BIM Management, VDC) are preferred.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on fostering collaboration and innovation within the team.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical information to a diverse audience.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about challenges and opportunities within BIM processes.
  • Project Management: Experience with project management principles and methodologies, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
