Senior Manager-Media Relations (UAE National)

My client is one of Dubai government's most influential departments, and they are seeking a UAE National as a preferred candidate for the new position of Senior Manager, Media Relations. This role is part of an aggressive expansion plan and will align with the Expo 2020 projects.

Reporting to the Communications Director, you will be responsible for managing communications with all local, regional, and international media, including consumer, trade, and specialist publications, to position Dubai as a leading economy.

Responsibilities include:

1. Manage the Media Office, providing a 'best-in-class' 24/7 service to the media, creating a daily news pipeline, and ensuring timely and effective responses to media inquiries.
2. Oversee the Online Media Centre, ensuring content is current and targeted appropriately.
3. Develop the Media Relations Strategy at both local and regional levels in coordination with the Director of Communications, including programs to build media relationships and promote Dubai through stories and creative campaigns.
4. Coordinate with Overseas Offices to develop tailored Media Relations Strategies aligned with the Head Office's strategy and organizational objectives.
5. Manage the creation of media content, including key messaging documents, press releases, articles, images, reactive statements, Q&As, speeches, and spokesperson briefings, utilizing in-house and agency resources.

Job Skills:

• University degree in Media, Journalism, PR, or related fields
• 7-10 years of experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role
• Experience in agency or in-house roles, preferably in tourism/destination marketing
• Existing relationships with key local and regional media (Arabic and English)
• Exceptional Arabic and English writing and communication skills
