Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Principal Lighting Design Engineer to join our team in the UAE.

The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in lighting design, with expertise in latestsoftware. This role involves working on high-profile projects with large developers, providing innovative and sustainable lighting solutions. Candidates with qualifications in Electrical or Architectural Engineering are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities :

• Work independently from concept to completion stages including design, technical workshops, coordination meetings, tender, supervision, mock-ups, testing and commissioning
• Lead and oversee lighting design projects, ensuring compliance with local and international standards.
• Develop lighting concepts, calculations, and layouts using latest software like Dialux,
• Collaborate with Architects, Interior Designer, MEP engineers, and developers to deliver integrated lighting solutions.
• Well versed with creating rendering
• Conduct site inspections, feasibility studies, and performance evaluations for lighting systems.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in lighting technology and sustainability trends.
• Ensure designs meet energy efficiency and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to source the latest lighting products.
• Prepare and present reports, technical documentation, and client proposals.

Key Requirements :

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or architectural engineering (or equivalent).
• 10+ years of experience in lighting design, preferably in large-scale commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects.
• Strong proficiency in lighting software for lighting simulations and calculations.
• Experience working with large developers in the UAE or GCC region.
• In-depth knowledge of international lighting standards (e.g., IES, CIBSE, EN 12464).
• Should be proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux, Photoshop, and InDesign
• Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Preferred Qualifications :
• Lighting Certification (e.g., CLD, LC) is a plus.
• Experience with daylight analysis and energy-efficient lighting solutions.
• Strong network within the UAE’s construction and development sector.
