Job Purpose
Assist in developing and implementing the objectives and strategies of the Environment and Occupational Health department, focusing on industrial hygiene. Provide technical support, awareness training, and maintain records aligned with ADNOC Distribution HSE objectives.
Job Specific Accountabilities
Risk Management and Compliance :
- Assist in developing, tracking, and ensuring proper implementation of ADNOC Distribution's Health, Safety, and Environment Strategic Objectives, specifically in Environment and Occupational Health and Industrial Hygiene Management.
- Support the Senior Industrial Hygienist in conducting industrial hygiene risk management activities.
- Assist in HSE management system audits and follow-up of identified risks.
- Identify workplace risks and advise on avoidance and control measures.
- Support facilities in developing and implementing site-specific industrial hygiene prevention and protection measures, ensuring HSE control measures are in place.
Surveys and Research :
- Identify impacts of occupational health and hygiene risks on the public.
- Assist in conducting industrial hygiene surveys, including heat stress monitoring, noise surveys, chemical exposure, lighting, and ergonomic studies.
- Research new developments in industrial hygiene and share findings with the team.
Training and Reporting :
- Assist in developing and delivering training and awareness programs for employees and the public.
- Prepare reports and presentations for management.
- Maintain records related to occupational health activities and initiatives.
Generic Accountabilities Supervision :
- Plan, supervise, and coordinate activities in the assigned area to meet objectives.
- Train and develop staff to enhance proficiency and achieve section goals.
Budgets :
- Contribute to departmental budget preparation and assist in implementing approved budgets and work plans.
- Investigate significant variances to support performance and cost control.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures :
- Implement approved policies, processes, and procedures aligned with company and international standards.
- Ensure compliance with applicable legislation and regulations.
Performance Management :
- Contribute to achieving performance objectives in line with company frameworks.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement :
- Design and implement tools and techniques to enhance operational quality and efficiency.
- Identify process improvements based on best practices to increase efficiency and define solutions for operational issues.
HSE and Sustainability :
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, legislation, and sustainability guidelines according to international standards and ADNOC standards.
Reports :
- Contribute to preparing MIS and progress reports for management.
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or an equivalent HSE-related qualification.
Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- At least 4 years' experience in HSE, preferably in retail or oil and gas sectors.
- Ability to perform industrial hygiene measurements such as noise monitoring, chemical exposure, heat stress, and indoor air quality assessments.
- Experience in core industrial hygiene programs like HCP, respiratory protection, hazardous substances, PPE management, and food safety.
- Experience delivering training programs on manual handling, chemical handling, PPE, and hearing conservation.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and good administrative skills.
- Fluent in English, both written and oral.
Certification :
- Possess professional certifications in health, safety, and environment or industrial hygiene such as NEBOSH, IOSH, BOHS, AIHA, or equivalent.
