Job description

Alvest Equipment Services (AES) offers a comprehensive range of services for ground handling equipment in the airport environment. These services include equipment rental (short or long term), fleet management, equipment sharing, maintenance, refurbishment, sale of used equipment, and tailored advice. AES is a subsidiary of Alvest and a global leader in Ground Support Equipment, collaborating with TLD, SAS, Sage Parts, and AES.

Job Description :

The Area Service Technician will be based in Abu Dhabi or Dubai, with extensive travel requirements. Essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may be assigned) include:

  1. Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on all types of Ground Support Equipment, independently or with supervision.
  2. Provide technical support during interventions at customer sites.
  3. Demonstrate a basic understanding of all TLD systems and subsystems (TLD being our sister company).
  4. Collaborate with senior technicians, managers, and factory business units to execute complex tasks.
  5. Provide user training and first-level maintenance for customers. Proficient in laptop usage (Outlook, Word, Adobe, Excel).
  6. Support other technicians, especially the existing maintenance team at AUH Airport and the TLD MEAI Service Team.
  7. Maintain accurate records of time, expenses, and planning.
  8. Work with customers across various countries.
  9. Update AES CMMS with detailed work reports daily.
  10. Prepare activity reports, intervention reports, customer responses, and closure documentation.
Profile / Requirements :

Candidates should possess strong technical and troubleshooting skills with knowledge in:

  • Mechanics
  • Electrical engineering (DC and AC)

Educational background in mechanical or electrical disciplines or equivalent technical experience in automotive, aeronautics, engines, electrical, marine, aviation, or construction industries.

Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new products and systems.

Motivated to develop skills, expand knowledge, and demonstrate a performance-oriented mindset.

Highly independent in task execution with full ownership.

Ability to collaborate effectively within a dynamic team environment and contribute positively to team spirit.

Flexibility to travel on short notice, mainly across South Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, and Indian Ocean Islands.

European nationality required.

Excellent communication skills in English are essential, including the ability to translate technical information for customers, factories, and management via email, Word, PDF, etc.
