ISP Teacher Profile

Purpose of Role

To ensure well-planned lessons and provide effective, personalized feedback in line with key policies including, but not limited to, T&L, feedback, and displays; to ensure students are safe, engaged, and challenged to maximize progress and educational outcomes for all.

ISP Teacher Key Responsibilities

  1. Plan and deliver teaching and learning activities aligned with the school's curriculum to maximize engagement, learning, and progress.
  2. Ensure learning objectives are concise, appropriate, understood, and recorded by students.
  3. Provide clear lesson structure, maintaining good pace and challenge.
  4. Ensure students are aware of and work towards Minimum Target Grades (MTGs) and Aspirational Target Grades (ATGs) (secondary only).
  5. Motivate and challenge students through effective differentiation.
  6. Create opportunities for independent and collaborative learning.
  7. Assign regular homework to reinforce understanding.
  8. Incorporate peer and self-assessment opportunities.
  9. Manage behavior and resources effectively.
  10. Use varied teaching strategies to personalize learning and maximize motivation.
  11. Set and uphold high expectations and positive behavior management.
  12. Adapt lessons for students with SEN or EAL needs.
  13. Ensure students understand key terminology at lesson start.
  14. Support students' SMSC needs and reflect STEAM and enterprise pathways in planning.
  15. Create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
  16. AMAR: Academic Monitoring, Assessment, and Reporting
  17. Assess and moderate assessments accurately.
  18. Use assessment data to improve planning and learning outcomes.
  19. Provide systematic, personalized, and age-appropriate feedback.
  20. Generate personalized reports following school policies.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
