JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is currently inviting expressions of interest for the position of Lead Technical Safety Engineer based in Abu Dhabi.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Purpose:

Provide specialized technical safety/HSE inputs and review/approve TSE design documentation.

Responsibilities:

  1. Discipline engineer within one or more integrated in-house or contractor teams handling multiple project responsibilities.
  2. Execute technical work for FEED and Detailed Designs, including designs, specifications, and drawings within designated CTR scopes.
  3. Maintain excellent HSE performance throughout the engineering phase of the project lifecycle.
  4. Implement, practice, and monitor Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001-2015 and API Q2 2nd edition requirements.
  5. Conduct discipline and inter-discipline checks and reviews of engineering and design work.
  6. Contribute to developing contracting strategies that complement design, construction, and operating methods.
  7. Stay engaged in design issues and decisions throughout construction, commissioning, and start-up phases.
  8. Create value for customers by understanding their drivers and success factors.
  9. Capture and apply lessons learned, incorporating improvements.
  10. Deliver continuously improving performance, benchmarking as top-tier in the industry.
  11. Write weekly time reports accurately.
  12. Ensure successful delivery of own discipline engineering and design work, with appropriate reviews.
  13. Maintain quality, integrity, functionality, constructability, safety, and reliability of designs.
  14. Participate in multiple engineering reviews and provide sound design inputs.
  15. Contribute to excellent HSE performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  16. Maintain effective interfaces within and between disciplines, and with other project teams and assets.
  17. Focus on the development of young TSE engineers.
  18. Provide guidance on Technical Safety matters consistently within the team.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 15 years of experience, including at least 10 years in oil & gas and 6 years in FEED/Engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in the Middle East is preferred.
  • Ability to work as a team player, prioritizing team performance over individual recognition.
  • Capability to handle multiple project responsibilities in a team environment.
  • Proven success in delivering work and projects with proper reviews.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining engineering processes, systems, and tools.
