JobSummary

The sr. mechanicalengineer is responsible for all aspects of the project relating tomechanical works the duties must be performed professionally andexpeditiously to support the ongoing progress of the project. Therole includes management of the mechanicalinspector.

JobDuties

• The incumbentperforms a broad crosssection of complex technical andadministrative activities requiring extensive experience andspecialization in Contract Compliance Quality Control (QC) andQuality Assurance (QA) inspection of mechanical scope related tothe project
• Analyses applicable codes standardsand project contract documents and monitors construction activitiesto ensure compliance with contractdocuments.
• Interprets or clarifies contractdocuments for Contractors.
• Maintains andprepares a variety of records including daily/weekly progressreports material accounting records change orders and recorddrawings.
• Supervise and provide assistance tothe mechanical engineer.
• Responsible forsupervising directing and coordinating the inspectionteam.
• Conduct weekly meetings with inspectorsand mechanical engineer.
• Ensuring thatresponses are complete and in compliance with the contractdocuments. Where problems are found work with Project Engineer toresolve.
• Audit inspections for conformity tocontract documents and contractor submittedplans.
• Assist the Senior Discipline engineer toidentify respond to or evaluate technical issues to maintain theschedule.
• Highlights any violations toconstruction/ engineering related issues on site through issuanceof NCRs
• Attends progress review meetings andcoordination meetings to assist the Project Lead/Senior Engineer inresolving any site issues such as discrepancies in projectsdrawings.
• Participatesin the coordination and monitoring of snagging and projecthandover
• Providesupport to ResidentEngineer/Team lead to ensure projects run smoothly byproviding expert knowledge and advice.
• Liaiseswith the Design Engineer on modifications ifrequired.
• Gives daily site reports andhighlights issues that arise on site to the ProjectLead.
• Contributes in the preparation of allkinds of reports and as directed by the projectlead.
• Monitor Health and Safety of theconstruction works and report on the same. If required stop theconstruction works if unsafe practices are beingfollowed.

SpecificSkills Required

• Siteexperience in basic design requirements estimation installation andall site activities related to all mechanical works forconstruction of largescale buildingprojects.

• Familiar withall the Mechanical Engineering methodologies as well as thecorresponding equipment materials consumables tools and manpowerallocations related to mechanical works for buildingprojects.
• Well versed in interpreting andexecuting mechanical related drawings.
• Have theknowledge of the related authoritiesrequirements
• HighRise Residential villas andCommercial buildings experience required with strong background instartup execution and handover of majorprojects.

• Good teamplayer with high energy levels. Able to supervise a teamof inspectors efficiently andcompetently

Qualifications:

Qualification

• BachelorDegree in mechanical or equivalent Plus an advanced postGraduate Degree and membership of a recognized institution would bepreferred or Masters Degree in MechanicalEngineering.

Experience

• Minimum12 years demonstrable experience in the design and all aspects ofsupervision and project administration of the mechanical worksrelated to largescale projects within Middle East/ UAE in theconsultingindustry
