Job description

A new opportunity has arisen with one of the fastest-growing hospitality firms in Abu Dhabi, UAE. They are seeking a LMS and SMS Systems Operator to join their new institute.

The LMS (Learning Management System) and SMS (Student Management System) Systems Operator is responsible for managing the digital platforms used by learners. This role involves overseeing the technical aspects of these systems, ensuring their smooth operation, and providing support to students, teachers, and parents in utilizing these platforms effectively. The Systems Operator plays a crucial role in facilitating remote learning, managing student data, and enhancing communication within the school community.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. System Administration: Manage and maintain the LMS and SMS platforms, including user accounts, permissions, and system configurations.
  2. Technical Support: Provide technical support to students, teachers, and parents, troubleshooting issues related to platform access, navigation, and functionality.
  3. Training and Onboarding: Conduct training sessions and workshops to onboard new users and familiarize them with the features and functionalities of the LMS and SMS systems.
  4. Content Management: Assist teachers in uploading and organizing educational materials, assignments, quizzes, and other content within the LMS platform.
  5. Data Management: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of student data within the SMS system, including enrollment records, grades, attendance, and disciplinary information.
  6. Integration and Customization: Collaborate with IT staff to integrate third-party tools and applications with the LMS and SMS systems, and customize features to meet the specific needs of the school.
  7. Communication Facilitation: Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and parents through the LMS and SMS platforms, including announcements, messaging, and discussion forums.
  8. System Upgrades and Maintenance: Stay informed about updates and enhancements to the LMS and SMS systems, coordinating system upgrades and maintenance activities as needed.
  9. Data Analysis and Reporting: Generate reports and analyze data from the LMS and SMS systems to monitor student progress, identify trends, and inform decision-making by school administrators.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in system administration, technical support, or a similar role, preferably within an educational environment.
  • Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting LMS and SMS platforms (e.g., Moodle, Canvas, PowerSchool, Infinite Campus).
  • Strong technical skills, including knowledge of web technologies, databases, and network infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset, with the ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and draw actionable insights.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in managing student data and system configurations.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to changing needs and priorities within the school community.
