Job description

Job Purpose

  • Assist in performing risk-based audits, investigations, and consultancy assignment.
  • Participate in audit planning and risk assessments.
  • Prepare working papers/documentation and ensure that supporting evidence is properly retained.
  • Follow up audit recommendations as directed.
  • Assist SM in maintaining continuous update of auditee’s risk profile.
  • Execute audit fieldwork as directed and promptly report identified risk issues.
  • Timely reporting to concerned parties on all operational risk, fraud, AML and related issues.
  • Will be primarily supporting SM – Support Functions audit to audit entities like Finance, HR, Operations etc.
  • Will assist other team leaders in audit of other areas across the Bank as and when required.
  • Lead Audits under the oversight of the SM – Support Functions.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Contribute to IA policy and procedure development.
  • Implement Internal Audit’s policies and procedures.
  • Keep informed about best practice, regulatory changes and current developments in Internal Auditing standards and banking environment.
  • Ensure audit assignments are carried out with objectivity.
  • Ensure to avoid conflicts of interest.
  • Undertake a thorough audit process and document issues, risks and observations.
  • Recommendations on open risk that are clear, actionable and raised with IAD management.
  • Prepare audit working paper files.
  • Ensure audit assignments are completed on time.
  • Ensure management actions address both symptoms and root cause.
  • Follow up audit recommendations.
  • Assist AM to deliver quality audit reports in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that documentation on Teammate (TM) is complete on time.
  • Assist SM to ensure framework for continuous auditing covers critical risk areas.
  • Deploy latest techniques and professional audit standards locally.

  • Assist in special assignments and fraud investigations.

Qualification & Experience

  • University Graduate (bachelor's degree)
  • Internationally recognized qualification: CIA is preferred.
  • 5+ years practical experience in Internal/External auditing, within Financial Services industry or 8+ years of experience in relevant banking domain with focus on risks and controls.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the latest international audit standards and methods (including Basel Committee on Banking Supervision).
  • Sound judgment to ensure IIA standards and Code of Ethics are met.
