The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Piping Engineer with a proven track record in designing, analyzing, and ensuring the integrity of piping systems for the safe and efficient transport of fluids and gases in industrial settings for a high-profile client.

The key objectives for this role are:

  1. Design and analyze piping systems to ensure efficiency and safety.
  2. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in piping design and installation.
  3. Conduct risk assessments and system evaluations to maintain integrity and reliability.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including construction and maintenance, for seamless project execution.
  5. Oversee the installation and operation of piping systems to meet project requirements.
  6. Implement innovative solutions to optimize performance and reduce costs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Promote adherence to discipline-specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Support the development and implementation of the technical assurance framework.
  • Monitor compliance with competence standards.
  • Participate in incident investigations as required.
  • Set performance expectations for direct reports.
  • Maintain own competence and pursue continuous development.
  • Provide discipline support to the business.
  • Ensure learning opportunities are captured and utilized.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks and legislation.
  • Proficient in scope definition.
  • Participate as part of the PMT client team overseeing EPC contractors.
  • Oversee piping engineering work carried out by EPC contractors for major projects.
  • Promote effective communication within EPC contractor teams to produce safe, cost-effective, and constructible piping designs.
  • Provide technical leadership and decision-making support for piping engineering activities.
  • Participate in project safety and design reviews.
  • Assist during construction and installation activities with technical support.
  • Liaise with and report to the client's senior management regarding piping engineering progress and issues.
  • Troubleshoot piping design issues, resolving engineering or fabrication problems through site and technical queries.
  • Attend engineering progress meetings and generate status reports.
  • Manage change processes, including review of proposals.
  • Assist construction personnel with technical queries.
  • Collaborate with construction management to eliminate hazards and ensure safety.
  • Resolve technical piping engineering problems and coordinate solutions.
  • Ensure all work is completed with quality and according to schedule.
  • Maintain excellent knowledge of piping discipline fundamentals and other related disciplines.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards, statutory, and regulatory requirements.

Expected:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience in the Offshore/Onshore Oil & Gas industry.
  • At least 5 years in a similar senior position managing teams on mega oil & gas or petrochemical projects.
  • Offshore experience is essential; ADNOC experience is preferred.
  • FEED experience is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of engineering software and business tools.
  • Experience working in multi-project, multi-discipline environments throughout all project phases.
  • Previous experience in the Middle East is advantageous.
