Job Summary
THE QC Welding Supervisor to oversee welding quality control activities for a long-term ADNOC project in the UAE. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with ADNOC, international codes (ASME, AWS, API), and project specifications while supervising welding inspections, NDT processes, and welder qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Control & Compliance

  • Ensure welding activities comply with ADNOC standards, ASME Section IX, AWS D1.1, API 1104, and project specifications.
  • Review and approve WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications), PQR (Procedure Qualification Records), and WPQ (Welder Performance Qualifications).
  • Conduct inspections of welding processes, including SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, and SAW.
  • Monitor pre-heat, interpass temperature, and post-weld heat treatment (PWHT).
2. Inspection & Testing
  • Oversee visual inspections (VT), radiographic testing (RT), ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle testing (MT), and liquid penetrant testing (PT).
  • Verify weld joint preparation, alignment, and fit-up before welding.
  • Ensure proper material traceability and welding consumable control.
3. Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain welding quality records, inspection reports, and NDT reports.
  • Issue and track Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with third-party inspectors (TPI) and client representatives.
4. Supervision & Coordination
  • Supervise welding inspectors and NDT personnel.
  • Conduct welder qualification tests and monitor welder performance.
  • Liaise with construction, engineering, and subcontractors to resolve welding-related issues.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Welding Engineering or related field.
  • CSWIP 3.1/3.2, AWS CWI, or equivalent certification (mandatory).
  • ASNT Level II in RT, UT, MT, PT (preferred).
  • Minimum 7 years of QC welding experience in oil & gas (ADNOC experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of pipeline, structural, and pressure vessel welding.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 3834, and NACE standards.
