Job description

The ideal candidate has a strong passion for culinary excellence and a keen eye for detail. You will assist the Executive Chef in providing exceptional food quality and presentation.

Responsibilities

  1. Oversee and assist the kitchen staff in all aspects of food production.
  2. Evaluate food products to ensure consistent quality standards.
  3. Establish and maintain a regular maintenance schedule for all kitchen areas and equipment.
  4. Provide training and professional development opportunities for all kitchen staff.
  5. Lead by example and alongside the Executive Chef to deliver effective and efficient dining experiences by overseeing the back of house (BOH) operation, staffing, food production, accommodating special requests, dietary restrictions, and adhering to Health and Safety standards set by Leelas Lunches, local and regional government.
  6. Establish professional relationships with the team and provide educational opportunities to teach and develop skills in other areas of the business.
  7. Optimize processes to run an effective and efficient kitchen while maintaining the highest food quality and controls for all dishes served.
  8. Manage staff schedules, payroll, kitchen setup/breakdown, production, prep, and ensure staff wear proper uniforms; follow disciplinary procedures when applicable.
  9. Promote teamwork and synergy between front and back of house staff through proper communication, delegating tasks to ensure smooth service and kitchen operations.

Qualifications

  1. 8 to 10 years of culinary or kitchen experience, preferably with experience in bulk volume cooking.
  2. Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  3. Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
  4. Culinary trained and passionate about developing and growing as a Chef.
  5. Experience managing P&L, labor, purchasing, vendors, and quality control to achieve revenue results.
  6. Consistent work experience with a desire to support the business operationally as both an individual contributor and leader.
  7. Food Service Safe certification and familiarity with local sanitation regulations.
  8. Proficient in email etiquette and written/verbal communication.
  9. Experienced in training, leading teams, and producing large quantities of high-quality food.
  10. Graduate from a culinary school with the necessary certification.

Salary: AED 6,000 - 8,000 depending on experience. Benefits include medical insurance, air tickets, and duty meals.
