A leading antique store in Dubai is seeking a knowledgeable sales associate to engage clients and drive sales. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in antiques or luxury retail, with excellent communication skills and a passion for unique items. Responsibilities include greeting clients, preparing sales transactions, managing inventory, and supporting digital marketing efforts. • Greet walk-in clients and cultivate a welcoming, knowledgeable atmosphere.
• Conduct needs analysis, suggest suitable pieces, and communicate provenance, materials, and period style.
• Prepare and close sales transactions (POS, invoices, receipts, payment plans).
• Proactively follow up with prospects, maintain a client book, and nurture repeat business and referrals.
• Maintain up-to-date expertise on inventory history, restoration work, market trends, and comparable valuations.
• Assist management or appraisers in basic authenticity checks (age indicators, maker’s marks, joinery, patina).
• Translate technical details into compelling stories that highlight each item’s uniqueness and investment value.
Inventory & Stock Control
• Receive, inspect, and log incoming pieces; note condition, dimensions, and any restoration needs.
• Tag items with SKU/QR codes, update inventory management software, and coordinate photography for online listings.
• Monitor stock levels, highlight slow-moving items, and recommend markdowns or promotional bundles.
Digital & Marketing Support
• Draft engaging product descriptions and upload high-quality images to the store’s website, social media, or marketplace platforms.
• Respond promptly to online inquiries, providing additional photos or condition reports.
• Assist with email campaigns, virtual showroom tours, and live-stream sales events.
• Arrange local deliveries and international shipping, securing quotes, export documents, and insurance as required.
• Oversee safe packing and coordinate with restoration partners when pre-sale touch-ups are needed.
• Track shipments and update clients until delivery is confirmed.
Store Maintenance & Compliance
• Keep showroom immaculate, ensuring antiques are protected from damage or UV exposure.
• Follow security protocols for high-value items (alarms, locked cases, CCTV checks).
• Adhere to local regulations on heritage items, endangered materials (e.g., ivory, rosewood), and export restrictions.
Administrative & Reporting
• Record daily sales, cash reconciliation, and prepare basic performance reports for management.
• Assist with vendor invoices, consignment agreements, and insurance renewals.
• Participate in periodic stocktakes and support year-end audits.
Desired Candidate Profile
• Bachelor’s or diploma in Art History, Interior Design, Marketing, or related field (preferred).
• 2-4 years’ front-of-house sales in antiques, luxury retail, galleries, or high-end furnishings.
• Proven track record meeting or exceeding monthly sales targets and average transaction value.
