Job description

We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Responsibilities:

• SQL proficiency: Design and develop efficient and optimized SQL queries to drive product performance towards achievement of product needs.
• Optimization & performance: Tackle complex performance challenges, reducing latency and improving the overall efficiency of our products.
• Real-time data expertise: Implement real-time data solutions, collaborating with internal teams to empower data consumption and analysis, and ensuring that our systems can handle high-volume and low-latency data ingestion and processing.
• Collaborate on products evolution: Participate in the product development lifecycle from inception and design to bring-up, optimization, verification
• Prototyping & hands-on development: Develop quick prototypes to demonstrate best practices and solutions, showing users the most effective ways to approach problems.
• Database maintenance: Monitor database performance, implement updates and patches, and perform regular tests to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity, as well as optimal performance and latency.

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of database design, data modelling, and querying strategies. Experience with real-time data or distributed systems is a plus.
• B.Sc. in in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 10+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, with expertise in ClickHouse and PostgreSQL
• Experience with data backup and recovery, performance monitoring, and security measures
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Problem solving skills and ability to think algorithmically

Bonus Skills:

• Knowledge of scripting languages, such as Python
  
• RF DSP knowledge and experience
• Experience with ultra-high volume database systems

Other requirements:

• Passion for Software Development and Technology in general.
  
• Flexible attitude, ability to perform under pressure.
  
• Be open to learn and be willing to be challenged.
  
• Good level of spoken and written English language (upper-intermediate).
