Job description

The Senior Vendor Manager position is for a passionate customer and category advocate within Amazon, with proven analytical capabilities and project management skills, great attention to detail, and the ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of driving category growth and be an effective leader and communicator, working with Amazon UAE's important partners, vendors, internal colleagues, and cross-functional leaders. A self-starter with a passion for retail, flexibility, and commitment is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Act as the ‘business owner’ for assigned categories, understanding internal and external variables affecting the business, owning forecasting, monitoring, understanding, and reporting on the business, and driving projects and promotions to meet objectives.
  2. Understand industry trends, seasonality, and monitor competitor and industry developments.
  3. Maximize Amazon’s profitability and expand product selection.
  4. Understand customer needs and advocate for site features that enhance the shopping experience.
  5. Manage vendor relationships, including contracts, day-to-day interactions, and negotiations for marketing funds.
  6. Develop business plans for new opportunities and execute project plans for launching new features, including merchandising and pricing strategies.
  7. Coordinate with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, meeting deadlines.
  8. Conduct financial analysis to meet revenue and profitability targets.
Basic Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience with Excel.
  • 5+ years in account management, project or program management, or buying.
  • Experience using data to influence business decisions.
  • Experience driving cross-team collaboration.
  • Experience with business analysis and P&L management.
  • Experience negotiating with stakeholders.
  • Experience presenting to senior leadership.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience aligning and driving direction with cross-functional teams.
